Russian Singer Vitas is a familiar face for Chinese audiences; best known for his legendary ability to sing across five octaves, close to the ultrasonic range. But singing is not his only skill.
Vitas never tires of honing his acting skills when given the chance. He is currently the lead role in the Chinese-made musical comedy, "One Night to Be Star". What's more, the film is not his debut big-screen performance.
Vitas previously played cameo roles in two Chinese films, "Mulan" and "Beginning of the Great Revival."
In "One Night to Be Star", similar to his own real-life story, Vitas portrays a Russian musician with a discerning eye who is able to distinguish greatness from mediocrity.
Aside from the news that he will appear in the film, the topic of how much he will receive in payment has also been frequently mentioned among the press and fans. It is rumored that Vitas will receive seven figures for his latest on-screen appearance. Producer Wang Lei said in an interview, "This is a commercial secret. According to the relative contract terms, I can't tell you too much. However, I can say that the sum is worth it."
Directed by Shi Lei, "One Night to Be Star" also features Eva Huang, Liu Hua, Tian Wa and Wang Siyi.
